The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is proud to announce a new partnership with meetNKY—the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau. They will partner to host a summer event, bringing junior golf opportunities to the Northern Kentucky area. meetNKY will serve as the annual event's title sponsor from 2024 through 2026.
“Hosting the AJGA Open this year is the perfect opportunity to showcase what the region has to offer to the national sports landscape,” said meetNKY President and CEO, Julie Kirkpatrick. “We expect that visitors to Northern Kentucky and the Cincy Region for this event will enjoy all that we have to offer and make their way back to visit us for many more national sporting events in the future.”
The three-year sponsorship with meetNKY will include naming rights to a summer event beginning in 2024. The sponsorship will contribute to the support of the AJGA’s mission and its dedication to the overall growth and development of young men and women through providing competitive junior golf opportunities.
“The AJGA is excited to be adding meetNKY to our 2024 schedule and beyond,” said Senior Regional Director, Midwest, Ryan Flanagan. “We are looking forward to this partnership as it will allow us to bring more opportunities to the Northern Kentucky area.”
This will mark the first time The Golf Courses of Kenton County – Willows Course will host an AJGA tournament. The event will consist of a qualifier, practice round and tournament rounds and is set to take place May 24-27, 2024, with a qualifier on the 24th. The 54-hole stroke play event will host the top 12-19-year-olds from around the world. The Open event allows an opportunity for members in the field to strengthen their skills and build Performance Based Entry Stars needed to gain entry to AJGA events.
