Reforest Northern Kentucky is an annual, all-volunteer project organized by the Council to restore native Kentucky woodlands. The reforestation project is responsible for planting thousands of tree seedlings on public, protected previously mowed properties in Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties. Reforest NKY is an opportunity for public education and awareness about the importance of trees in our region. By planting trees, our forest landscape and legacy is restored. Trees and forests provide significant, measurable benefits to our communities improving the environment, economy and our quality of life. Reforest Northern Kentucky is a successful, sustainable event with a proven track record. Since 2007, more than 36 acres of protected public park and school land have been planted with native woodland trees and nearly 2,500 volunteers have participated. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Bring your friends, family, and shovels to help make a difference planting trees in your community.
