The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra's 24th Free Summer Series in Covington's Devou Park offers a mix of nostalgia and international flavor with four different KSO affiliated groups. Concerts are free to the public the first Saturdays of the monthy July-September at 7:30 p.m. at the concert bowl in Devou Park. July 7 at 7:30 - Class Reunion Remix: 45s to mp3s The KSO's Boogie Band (studio orchestra with vocalists) celebrates all high school class reunions on the 8s (from '58 to '08) covering 22 pop hits from those youthful years. Aug. 4 at 7:30 - Sombreros vs. Lederhosen The KSO ventures south of the border and to the land of sasuerkraut and schnitzel to pair itso wn Mariachi group with a Bavarian Polka Band. Music cultures collide as these groups will have the audience singing, dancing and shouting "ziggy-zaggy!" Sept. 1 at 7:30 - The Over-Tour of Broadway The KSO celebrates the golden age of Broadway on Labor Day weekend with 12 of the greatest overtures from musicals dating 1926 - 1964. Broadway royalty is represented by composers George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rogers, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Frederick Loewe, Jule Styne, and others.
