Fort Thomas, Kentucky Hear how the highlands of Campbell County became the military outpost succeeding Ft. Washington and the Newport Barracks. For over 90 years, Ft. Thomas recruited, inducted and trained soldiers from the Spanish American War through WWII. Visit the Civil War Shaler Battery, the Military and Community Museum and the U.S. Army Reserve Center to learn about the resident 478th Engineering Battalion. Have lunch in the 1800s Mess Hall.
